Faith in Him

When I began this journey, the first thing I had reservations about was...ding ding ding! You got it! Money! As I'm sure are the first thing most people worry about! But I resolved to give it to Him, I knew that I would be surprised at each donation and excited and in AWE of the Lord's provision!
I cannot wait to be in Kenya! I cannot wait to get to play with the children, and teach them about Christ's love! To teach them what Faith actually means! To give hope to some who have lost that!

To walk with them to their homes, see how they live, and pray with them. I cannot wait to talk to the random person walking along the road about what Christ did for them when He died on that Roman Cross, and then miraculously rose 3 days later! I cannot wait to see the way the Lord will work in me and thru me, the blessings I will receive and give will not be able to be described!
I am still struggling with the thought of leaving my family for 2 weeks with little to no communication. It's SCARY!! I have never left my children anywhere near that long! And my husband either! I know that will be a challenge, but at the same time, I kwo the Lord has called me to something greater than myself, and therefore I will be able to endure it.
My children will be well taken care of with some of our amazing family members volunteering their time and homes to be able to help Chris while I'm gone, so I have a peace about that.
The other fear is the plane ride! I've never been on anything larger than a 16 seater! LOL! Just a few things to be praying about for me!!
Thank you to all of you who have been in prayer for myself, the team and the people of Kenya, and thank you for your continued prayers!
I can't wait!!

God is soo good!!

Imani has officially filed for our 501c3!!!!!
The Lord has been soo good!! We set a goal two weeks ago that we would have the money raised to file by May 6th. We originally thought the fee was only $400, but turns out it was $850! So we were a little disappointed and felt a little doubt, however, we have made it clear that doubt is of satan and NOT the Lord! We prayed about the timing and knew that this was the Lord's will! So we set a date, and PRAISE GOD!! We were able to file on May 6th!! So awesome!!
So now we are concentrating on raising money for buying the items we need to get while in Africa to bring back for the shop!
Our first fundraiser is going to be with Chili's here in College Station! We have signed up to do a profit share with them next Tuesday from 11AM till 11PM! We will be passing out flyers this week! Please go enjoy some Chili's while supporting Imani!! You can either print the flyer off from here (black and white is fine!):

Or we would be more than happy to bring you some!!

Also, another amazing thing going on:
REAL 4 Christ ministries was just in a drawing to win money towards new play shirts for the kids in the school, unfortunately they lost!! It was soo close!! However, I felt the Lord pushing me towards getting those kiddos new shirts!! They need them so badly! Last Sunday (not two days ago but the Sunday prior to that), my friend Jackie approached me.
Back story a bit: Our pastor gave $5 to every adult and child that entered the building on Easter Sunday, and with it gave us all a chellenge. The challenge was to use the money to bless someone, that we all make excuses that we don't have the resources and now the Lord had given us the resources!
So Jackie approached me telling me her and her kids were looking for some way to do this with their money, but they wanted to do something bigger! She also wanted to incorporate art, because her children love to create things! As I was thinking about this, I told her about the shirts and how I wanted to help. So out of this, the idea to have an art day with our kids came to life! We decided to use the money to buy art supplies, paint canvases etc. We offered it to all the mommies we knew and held it last Saturday. We explained to the kids that what we were doing and why, we had about 12 kiddos there and they all painted there little hearts out!

Now by tonight I will have pictures of each one of the Canvases. I will be setting up an auction and we will auction the paintings off!
Then some even more exciting news came! I called Monograms and More here in College Station, I told them what we were doing and this is what he told me back:

"I will do the shirts for $5.00per shirt and in the event you don’t raise enough money I will see what we can do on our end.
I will start with no art and no set up which is $45.00 to start and we can go from there. Just let me know what you want to Do and we will go from there!"

Seriously!! Lord you are amazing!!

With the way this has turned out and how into it the kiddos were, Imani has decided to add this to our Online Boutique!! We are going to have Imani Art Day for kiddos, we will explain what Imani is to the kids, who we support and why, and then let them go to town and be creative! After that we will add them to our online store to help raise funds for Imani to support the amazing Missionaries in Kenya and Uganda! The Lord just continues to bless Imani!!

Thank you to all of your prayers!! My fundraising for my trip is almost done!! Thank you for helping to get me there! This is just the beginning, the Lord has so much in store!!
